It also went some way towards measuring the knowledge gap amongst parents in terms of activities that can develop EY language and literacy skills, particularly vocabulary, phonological awareness and Reading for Pleasure.

The results indicated that it was extremely worthwhile sharing the 'why', with half of the cohort empowered to create their own at home activities with this knowledge. However, just over half the cohort also requested ideas of 'what' to do.
